Time for Goals

Published May 1, 2024

Don't attempt the truly impossible. The first feasibility test, the first gate to pass is time. Can you devote the minimum amount of time required to practice? If not, don't bother starting. The first step for any goal is set aside the time.

If you want to write a novel, set aside the hour a day to write.

If you want to run a marathon, set aside the 30 a day to run.

If you want to learn a foreign language, set aside the time to practice.

Even if you aren't ready to make significant progress, you must guard the time. Maybe you are in poor condition, don't own a pair of running shoes yet, and not sure where to start? You can still devote the 30 minutes per day for running. At first, you might be sitting in a chair, drinking a cup of coffee and thinking about running, but you have started. You have found the time and are using the time.

Start where you are with what you have and start to practice. Step one is the schedule.
