LinkedIn Tips

Set your contact info.

I see so many connections that have a personal, rarely used personal email as the contact info. If you don't want to be found, I get it. I'd recommend using your preferred email in the contact info.

The risk is your change jobs and can't log in, so have more than one email. Keep the personal email as a backup.

Steps to Add or Change Email Address on LinkedIn:

  1. Go to Your Profile: Click on your profile picture or select "View Profile" from the top menu.
  2. Edit Contact Info:
    • Below your profile picture and headline, find the "Contact Info" section and click the pencil icon to edit it.
  3. Manage Email Addresses:
    • In the contact info edit window, click "Add Email Address" (if the desired email isn’t already there) or choose an existing email to set as primary.
    • If adding a new email, you’ll be prompted to verify it.
  4. Set the Preferred Email as Primary:
    • Once the new email is verified, go to Settings & Privacy:
      • Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.
      • Select Settings & Privacy.
      • Navigate to the Sign-in & Security section.
      • Under Email addresses, set the email you want to be displayed as the primary one.
  5. Save Changes: After setting the primary email, go back to your profile's "Contact Info" and ensure the new email is reflected there.

Your connections will now see your preferred email address when they click on your contact info.
