OR: Ordinary Routine

Next: Introductions

Seek an extraordinary life. I don't just think you should. I think you must. Abraham Maslow said, "What you can be. You must be." I couldn't agree more. It's built into our design. We must bring order to chaos. You don't get to opt out. The key is the typical, ordinary daily routine.

I'm asking you to create an ordinary daily routine that leads to an extraordinary life. Consider the Tortoise and the Hare fable. I assume you are familiar. On the off chance you aren't, I'll quickly summarize. The Hare is expected to win every race against the Tortoise but not in this story. The Hare is so confident and so far out in front that it takes a nap. While napping and wasting time, the Tortoise moves by to win the race. The moral of the story is that slow and steady wins the race.

I've taken it a step further believing a tortoise runs the same race in the same way every time. The Tortoise didn't get lucky or have a great day. It was a typical, ordinary day. And it led to an extraordinary life. We can learn a lot from a fable.
